I am a senior undergraduate student majoring in Urban Studies and minoring in Sustainable Design, from Japan.

My academic journey has taken me across borders, studying in India, Japan, South Africa and the US, where I cultivated a profound interest in city development grounded in social justice. Prior to coming to Berkeley, I interned at the Jordanian Embassy in Tokyo, where I gained insights into the intricate interplay between international relations and urban development. This experience revealed to me foreign capital-based urban development that ignores local culture can create a neocolonial power balance.

I aspire to contribute to enhancing people's freedom and opportunities through my future career as a city planner or policymaker, with a focus on social justice.
