Mariah is passionate about environmental and climate justice, climate resilience, and is dedicated to helping create a more inclusive and intersectional climate movement. Mariah is currently working towards her Masters of City Planning at UC Berkeley, where she is an Arcus Social Justice Corps Fellow. She graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in Community and Regional Development and minors in Public Health and Climate Science and Policy. Prior to graduate school, she worked for the California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research as a Climate Resilience Assistant Planner working on projects related to tribal climate resilience and sea level rise and coastal resilience planning. Mariah is currently a Management Intern for the City of Oakland Planning and Building Department and a Resilience Fellow at Greenbelt Alliance.
Mariah is a graduate student researcher working with the Community Power and Policy Partnerships Program to conduct a racial equity analysis of the Henry J. Kaiser center rehabilitation and working to support research on strengthening and understanding the role of Community Benefit Agreements in ensuring stakeholder accountability.
