Tina Trujillo


Tina Trujillo is an Assistant Professor at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education. She earned her Ph.D. in Education from UCLA and her M.A. in Education from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is a former urban public school teacher, school reform coach, and educational evaluator. At Berkeley, she teaches Ph.D. students in Policy, Organization, Measurement and Evaluation (POME) and school and district leaders in the Leadership for Educational Equity Doctoral Program (LEEP) and the Principal Leadership Institute (PLI). 

Richard Rothstein


Richard Rothstein is a Senior Fellow at the Haas Institute, a Distinguished Fellow of the Economic Policy Institute where he works on policy issues regarding education and race, and a senior fellow (emeritus) at the Thurgood Marshall Institute of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. He is also the author of The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How our Government Segregated America.

Stephen Menendian


Stephen Menendian is the Assistant Director and Director of Research at the Haas Institute for a Fair and Inclusive Society, and oversees the Institute’s burgeoning research initiatives and ongoing projects. In particular, Stephen leads the Inclusiveness Index initiative, fair housing policy and opportunity mapping project with the Equity Metrics team.

Takiyah Franklin


Takiyah Franklin serves as a core member of the Haas Institute faculty research clusters and program teams, supporting cluster research and Haas Institute program activities. Takiyah works with the Associate Director Denise Herd and Institute staff to provide direct coordination, program development and administrative support to both plan for and organize cluster and Institute project activities and agendas.
