Diana Perez-Domencich is a Research Assistant to Eli Moore and the California Community Partnership. Born in Mexico City, Diana migrated with her parents to Oakland, California at the age of 10. She is currently a second-year master’s student in City and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley. Her research interests include environmental justice, preventing displacement, sustainability, cumulative health impacts, and inclusive development and policy decision-making. Prior to studying at UC Berkeley, Diana worked with Communities in Collaboration, where she supported participatory processes to ensure community voices are heard and respected in policy and program development. She has also worked with grassroots policy advocacy organizations on issues such as protecting need-based financial student aid, improving the community college system to better meet the needs of nontraditional students, and pushing for just immigration reform that protects the rights of immigrants and refugees.
